More than 70 people attended our recent Barnsley 2030 engagement event.

Delegates heard presentations from Sarah Norman, Chief Executive of BMBC and Mark Hempshall, Place, Policy and Equalities Manager at BMBC about Barnsley 2030 and its aims and ambitions.

Jane Holliday, CEO of Barnsley CVS, spoke about how the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector fits into Barnsley 2030 and highlighted some of the fantastic work being done by organisations. There were case studies shown from  Reds in the Community, YMCA Barnsley, ELSH, Station House Community Association, Owd Martha's Yard, HOPE in Community, Wortley Walled Garden Growers and Jolly Good Communities.

Lisa Phelan, North East and Central Area Council Manager at BMBC, spoke about the work being done in the area councils as part of Barnsley 2030.

There were lots of discussions during the round table session about the services offered by VCSE organisations and some great ideas were shared when delegates discussed what big ideas could be developed to make Barnsley - the place of possibilities.

Thank you to all the delegates who attended and the presenters.
