Young People’s Volunteering Service

What is the Young People’s Volunteering Service?

The Young People’s Volunteering Service aims to support young people aged 13 – 18 (and up to 25 dependent on circumstance) to engage in and access volunteering.

The service aims to help young people find an opportunity that will be meaningful, engaging and fun, and one that supports their individual needs and aspirations. Many young people would like to volunteer and appreciate the benefits of volunteering, but aren’t sure where to start or where to go to access volunteering - it can be a daunting prospect!

We have links with community and statutory organisations across Barnsley and up-to-date information on roles for a variety of interests and ages, to help connect young people with suitable opportunities. Our specialist Young People’s Volunteer Coordinator works with each young person 1-to-1 to support them in accessing volunteering, whatever their ambitions or needs.
