Lead on the delivery of Happy Group, Chilypep’s youth group for young refugees and asylum seekers, providing a safe and welcoming place for newly arrived young people to build social groups, and access opportunities and support.

Lead the delivery of work in asylum hotels and other accommodation sites, engaging with young asylum seekers through group work and 1:1 case work, becoming a regular presence at the main asylum hotel.

Work with your team to address immediate practical issues such as college enrolment, registering with a GP or purchasing a travel card.

Seek to empower young people to engage with their communities of choice (e.g., cultural communities, communities of shared interest etc.), relevant institutions (e.g., schools, sports clubs, statutory services etc.), and their host city/country in a manner responsive to individual needs and concerns.

Lead the planning and facilitation of engaging group work sessions that blend enrichment, learning, and socialising opportunities, as well as continuing to develop relationships with charities and organisations across the city to arrange and attend out-of-session excursions across Sheffield and South Yorkshire with young people.

Support the positive wellbeing, physical, and mental health needs of young people by using Chilypep’s existing tools, as well as referring and accompanying young people to access mental health services and casework support.
