Our service and what you’ll be doing:

 

We’re an employment service (working within SYHA) recognised as Excellent by the Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Individual Placement Support (IPS) and funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and European Social Fund to deliver various supported employment programmes across the region. Our main aim is to ‘Place then Train’ and all our programs are based on IPS, which is proven to be twice as effective as traditional approaches.

Our programs will involve working in an integrated way with health and employment partners, including GPs, social prescribing, Musculoskeletal services, physios, pain clinics and employers.

 

We also work with local Housing Associations and other Community Organisations and Trusts, as well as local Job Centre Plus sites.

 

As an Employment Specialist, you will undertake rapid job search with customers, developing links within the community to source individualised employment opportunities. You will coach customers in important work skills and provide up to 13 weeks of in-work and in-learning support to sustain outcomes.

Our ideal candidate is a people person willing to learn about Individual Placement (Employment) Support, who would enjoy working and interacting in the community, and is able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and empower them to make positive long-term changes to their lives.

 

It would be desirable for you to hold a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work, however we’re happy to discuss your individual circumstances relating to this area.
