Job description:

Key responsibilities

Support and Engagement

Build trusting, non-judgemental relationships with young women through 1:1 and group sessions.

Work with young women for an initial 6 sessions, with flexibility to extend support based on individual progress and goals.

Have a holistic approach to support young women to achieve their goals and raise their aspirations.

Supportively signpost young women to access local services, education, training, and employment opportunities.

Facilitate and develop peer led group sessions for young women who are part of the project.

Support young women to understand and manage their mental health and wellbeing.

Support young women to understand healthy relationships.

Have a creative, flexible and young person led approach to engage young women.

Involve young women in the development of the project through participation and co-production opportunities.

Community and Collaboration

Work closely with other youth and women’s organisations, statutory services, colleges, employers, health professionals, and VCSE partners.

Promote the programme and raise awareness of the needs of young women in Barnsley.

Help build inclusive, youth-friendly community networks.

Safeguarding and Professional Practice

Apply safeguarding procedures and maintain professional boundaries at all times.

Keep accurate records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation.

Participate in supervision, training, and reflective practice.

Engage in multi-agency meetings to collaboratively best support young women’s needs.

Data and reporting

Record relevant information relating to the contact with the young people in a structured and consistent way using Lamplight.

Work with confidential information and only share information in appropriate, pre-agreed ways, in line with GDPR.

Collect and maintain monitoring data for evaluation throughout the project

All candidates must have existing permission to work in the UK.
