The purpose of the Food Innovation and Poverty Action Fund is to support initiatives designed to reduce the impact of poverty and to reduce food insecurity for Barnsley residents.

 About the fund

The fund is provided by Barnsley Council’s Resilient Communities Team. The purpose of the fund is to support initiatives designed to reduce the impact of poverty and to reduce food insecurity for Barnsley residents.   It will contribute to poverty prevention through collaboration and partnership working. It aims to reduce food insecurity and improve access to good quality food for all.  It will ensure that Barnsley residents who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly. 

All partners, working under the Food Innovation and Poverty Action Fund will respect each other and work towards the common vision of: Barnsley - the place of possibilities 

 

Fund Criteria

Applications for funding should show how they work towards becoming self-sustaining. 

Funded provision should be open to all residents in the locality of the provision.

There should be no means-testing involved when residents apply to use the provision.
