Are you a passionate, trauma-informed Play Therapist looking tomake a meaningful impact on the lives of children?
Rothacs are delighted to have secured funding for the next three years from Children in Need for this work. We’re looking for a qualified and experienced Play Therapist to join our team on a sessional basis to support children aged 4–12 who have experienced trauma, including abuse, neglect, and loss. This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated professional who wants to work flexibly while making a real difference.
About the Role:
Provide therapeutic play sessions to children referred to the service
Work with trauma, attachment issues, and emotional regulation difficulties
Maintain accurate records and contribute to multi-agency collaboration
Offer 6 sessions of client-facing time per week (flexible scheduling)
What We’re Looking For:
Qualified Play Therapist with a recognised qualification
Registered member of BACP (or equivalent body)
Experience working with children under 13, particularly those with trauma backgrounds
Excellent understanding of child development, trauma, and safeguarding
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Self-employed with appropriate insurance and ability to invoice
