Role: Independent Domestic Abuse Service HUB Volunteer
Location: Barnsley (Office Based, Remote Positions Considered)
Hours: 4 hours per week

IDAS Barnsley is seeking five volunteers for the exciting roles within the HUB with survivors of domestic abuse.
The purpose of the role is to support in the HUB Independent Domestic Violence Advocates with the initial processing and administration of referrals and contacting clients safely.
This role involves risk assessing clients going through, or just come out of a domestic or sexual abusive relationship. Full training and shadowing of the HUB practitioners will be provided. The volunteers will be working closely with the practitioners to achieve the agreed goals.
• Admin
▫ Organising referral lists and spreadsheets
▫ Inputting client’s notes onto case management system
▫ Emails and communication with other professionals
▫ GDPR adherence
• Initial telephone contact with clients
• Completing assessments by telephone
• Follow up calls/emails to any clients needing sign posting to other agencies

Skills and quaifications:

The suitable candidate will be empathetic and non-judgemental. Confidence speaking professionally on the telephone is essential to complete initial risk assessments, signpost clients and liaise with other professionals.
Basic IT and Organisational skills are essential
Understanding of Domestic and Sexual Violence are desirable
DSB clearance is essential (Welcome Fast-Track applicants with a DBS on the Online Update Service)
