We are looking for a weekly gardener to manage and maintain the allotment and flowerbeds in the Quarry View garden for 4 hours per week (1 day or split over 2 days). Core tasks include:
• Monitoring the health of all plants and greenscapes
• Digging, planting and weeding flowerbeds and allotment patches
• Watering and feeding plants and vegetable patches
• Fertilising the allotment patches and flowerbeds
• Weeding the flowerbeds and allotment patches
• Controlling pests that damage plants
• Planning and arranging the planting of the flowerbeds and vegetable patches
• Managing and rotating compost bins
Days required: Mon AM, Mon PM, Tues AM, Tues PM, Weds AM, Weds PM, Thur AM, Thur PM, Fri AM, Fri PM

ESSENTIAL
• Enthusiasm and a passion for gardening
• Ability to communicate confidently and clearly with young people, other volunteers and staff
• Understanding of the importance of teamwork; commitment to being part of a team
• Able to work unsupervised
• Resilience, patience and an ability to motivate young people to participate in maintaining and managing the garden
• Ability to remain calm when involved with challenging individuals and situations
• Organisational and preparation skills
• Good communication skills
