The Astoria Centre, Barnsley has a number of volunteering opportunities available.
The Astoria Centre is home to the National Theatre Organ Heritage Centre and houses a fascinating collection of theatre pipe organs from the halcyon days of the 1930s.
Volunteer opportunities include
stewarding at events, helping to preserve and restore these mighty music machines, preparing & cleaning the venue for public events, helping with publicity & promotion, digitising our fascinating archive of theatre organ memorabilia and documentation, helping with admin and developing our online presence, together with furthering our media output.
We are a friendly group of volunteers, that also enjoy being part of a sociable team, helping to preserve these rare instruments.

Skills and quaifications:

No musical knowledge is necessary, in fact some of our volunteers are not musical at all but are valued members of our organisation.
