Footpath inspectors wanted in your area
Do you like walking or running on footpaths? Horse riding or cycling on bridleways? If yes, then PNFS would love to hear from you!
PFNS inspect footpaths, bridleways and other rights of way and we report on any problems we find and work to resolve any issues. We are looking for people with a passion for the outdoors, who would like to join our footpath inspection team and help us care for the countryside.
This a unique opportunity to enjoy being in the great outdoors whilst giving something back to the community. It can be done as an individual or with friends, walking with a purpose as well as for fun.

What will you do?
You will monitor rights of way on behalf of the Society-
o in an area you have agreed to inspect
o at your own pace and in your own time
o find the paths on our unique database
o record your inspections and report any problems

Recruitment process:

Interested volunteers will be contacted by our volunteer coordinator. An informal chat will identify where they would like to inspect -inspectors are assigned to a parish for their inspections. Once this has been agreed with the volunteer and they have joined the Society as a member, they will be appointed as a footpath inspector and given access to our footpath inspection database. We aim to respond to all initial enquiries within 48 hours.

Skills and quaifications:

Ability to read a map and use a computer/access to a computer or similar device.
