Door Openers
Hosted by: Barnsley CVS

Barnsley CVS's Supported Volunteering Project helps people
who have additional needs or barriers access volunteering opportunities. However some of these potential volunteers find it a struggle to leave their homes in order to start volunteering. The Door Opener role is about supporting volunteers to take their first steps out of the home into volunteering.

As a Door Opener, you will meet in pairs at the home of a supported volunteer, where you will get to know them and start to build their confidence. When the time is right, you will encourage them to take their first steps out of the house to meet you for coffee in local cafes or the library and refer them into the Social Volunteering Group run by the project.
