Job Club Volunteer

Could you spend a couple of hours a week helping people find and apply for jobs online?
Have you got the patience to take someone’s life story and create a winning CV?
Could you help people to work out their email, logins to job sites and Universal Jobmatch?
Would you emphasise with people who are struggling to find the right place for them in the workforce?
Barnsley Libraries want to support people to achieve their best – come and be a part of our Job Club and make a difference to people’s lives.
• You will need good IT skills as most job hunting is done online. We have experienced staff who will support you throughout your time with us
• We are looking for people who can help us make Job Club a friendly, welcoming place that encourages people and celebrates successes

Days required: Tues AM, Weds PM, Fri AM

Recruitment process:

Potential volunteers with Barnsley Libraries will need to complete an application form and meet with us to have an informal interview. We would hope to complete this process within a month.

Skills and quaifications:

We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of the busy team at the library and can complete tasks independently without direction. You will have excellent people skills to help us encourage those looking for employment and training opportunities. Most of this role will involve the use of online recruitment portals. Therefore good IT skills and the ability to transcribe information accurately would be essential.
