The South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit has announced the opening of its latest grant funding round for applications.

The Violence Against Women and Girls Reduction Fund is open to community groups, social enterprises and non-profit organisations working in South Yorkshire who are working on tackling violence against women and girls.

Organisations are able to secure up to £20,000, which can be used for existing or new projects.

Core costs, staff costs and activity costs can be funded.

Applications are sought from those whose work on tackling Violence Against Women and Girls supports the VRU’s 16 priorities, including:

- promote gender equality to reduce and prevent violence against women and girls

- work to change the cultural and social attitudes which contribute to violence

- reduce violence through victim identification, care and support programmes

- tackle domestic abuse and work to ensure that survivors can access the support they need

Applications are open from 14 June until midday on 1 July. All applications must be sent to the grants mailbox. Late applications will not be accepted.

Any funds awarded must be spent and activities completed by 31 March 2023.
