Organisations in Barnsley who want training to be delivered to staff and carers in the social care sector are being urged to get in touch with The Crossroads Social Care Academy.

The academy is part of Crossroads Caring for Carers, Barnsley Ltd, a charity established in 1993 that provides direct support services to carers and the people they care for across the Barnsley borough.

It has two equipped training rooms with the latest technology, equipment and learning materials.

Specialist training courses cover dementia, lone working, autism and learning disability and tissue viability while mandatory training topics include emergency first aid and medication and infection control.

There are also accredited training qualifications including in level 2, 3 and 5 diplomas in health and social care.
