This is for Barnsley, by Barnsley.

What’s Your Move believes that everyone can find a move that will help them to be more active in everyday life and help improve physical and mental health.

It’s all about encouraging everyone in Barnsley to find their move and experience the benefits of being active by:

Dearne Valley Camera Club is a club for people who love photography!

DVCC offers opportunities for photographers at any level to come together and develop their skills through a mix of practical photo sessions, lectures, competitions, exhibitions, photo walks, workshops and general club social activities. They have a diverse membership and if you're looking to join a club, either as a beginner, hobbyist or as an established photographer, you will be made to feel welcome.

Creative Minds, a linked charity of South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, have developed a Social Buddy Scheme known as the TwoCan Project. It is a project to support those around Barnsley who may be struggling with their mental health. It has been designed to help with certain issues made worse by the pandemic, causing so many more to be affected by social isolation, low mood and increasingly poor mental health.

We are facing an unprecedented situation with the impact of coronavirus and want to make sure our communities are supported. Barnsley CVS is working with Barnsley Council so people can volunteer their time, no matter how big or small to make a big difference during these difficult times. We know that residents play a huge role in building strong communities and that many of you are interested to see how you can help people who need it most. If you would like to volunteer your skills to support the most vulnerable, we can find an opportunity that works for you.
