Job title: Marketing and Communications Officer
Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer
Hours: 14 hours weekly
Salary: £20,000 to £22,000 (pro rata)
Benefits: 8% pension contribution, flexible working, 5 weeks annual leave and up to 4 weeks paid annual leave for carers (pro rata)
Contract: This post is offered on a permanent basis but is subject to funding after 2024.
Overview of the Post:
A fantastic opportunity to support the communications and marketing of a person-focussed local charity supporting disabled people, their family and carers to live independent lives and achieve their aspirations.
Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the successful applicant will have an important role in developing and implementing the Charity’s marketing strategy and communications plan.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Support the development and implement the Charity’s Marketing Strategy and Communications Plan
- Coordinate the design of promotional material and distribute online
- Promote the charity’s products/services on various social media
- Produce and maintain marketing copy for our website
- Promote our products and services during events
- Craft and send regular newsletters with company updates
- Monitor corporate website and social media pages and address clients’ queries
Skills and competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrable knowledge of adhering to brand guidelines.
- Experience of working with a range of social media platforms for marketing purposes.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- A team player
- Good creative skills
- Hands-on experience with web content management tools, e.g. WordPress or similar
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Experience with marketing campaigns on social media
- Good presentation skills
- Understanding of the role of the voluntary sector in meeting the needs of the local population
- Understanding of user led organisations and DIAL’s ethos
