Description:

SAVTE is looking to recruit suitably qualified English tutors (ESOL and/or Functional Skills) to join the Good Work Programme.

SAVTE has recently joined the Good Work Partnership managed by South Yorkshire Housing Association which covers the Sheffield City Region.

Good Work is a person-centred employment service for people with physical and mental health conditions, learning disabilities and complex needs. It’s based on the Individual Placement Support model, providing a bespoke support package to individuals to help them achieve their learning and work goals.
As project delivery partners, SAVTE are looking to recruit English language tutors to provide individualised language skills development to Good Work customers. We are looking for individuals who enjoy working independently and thrive on the opportunity to support, engage and motivate individuals to achieve their potential.

The provision offered will vary according to customers’ needs including ESOL, Functional Skills English and embedded IT skills - all carefully tailored to be both practical and relevant to a learner’s employment goals.
We are looking for self-motivated education professionals who can use their skills and experience to engage learners remotely using online platforms and where unavailable, telephone, text and email. In the longer term, when safe to do so, tutors will travel within several areas of the Sheffield City Region (Sheffield, Chesterfield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster and Bassetlaw) delivering one-to-one coaching sessions at learners’ homes or local community venues. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

The post holders will be employed solely to work on the Good Work contract funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund.
