Voluntary Action Rotherham is the lead body for supporting, developing and promoting the voluntary and community sector in the Rotherham Borough. We have an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of community development to get involved in promoting Rotherham Gismo, an online directory of not for profit groups in Rotherham.

The role will involve working with local voluntary and community sector groups and partner organisations to raise awareness and increase the use of the Rotherham Gismo website. It will also involve updating and editing the website and supporting new groups to register their details.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of the needs of voluntary and community groups and working with a diverse range of people and groups from different backgrounds.  The ability to communicate effectively, network and work in partnership is integral to the role and an essential requirement.

The successful candidate must be willing to work flexible hours when required to meet work demands, as occasional attendance at meetings outside normal working hours will be part of the role.

An intrinsic part of the role is to travel throughout the Borough on a regular basis, therefore, it is essential that applicants are able to travel to various locations during the course of employment.

For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Sarah Kelly on 01709 829821.  Socially distanced interviews (guidelines permitting) will take place on Wednesday 5th May 2021 at The Spectrum.

Closing date for applications: 12 noon on Tuesday 27th April 2021.
